    Do I need to be registered to use Parking Tag?
    No. If you park regularly, we recommend that you register for an account and park via the app. However, we also have unregistered options. To read about these, or park One Off visit our website.
    How do I register for a Parking Tag account?
    Simply download our Mobile Application. It is available on both Android and iOS. You can also register via our app or call 0818 300 161. You will be asked for your name, email, mobile number, the registration number of your vehicle, along with your credit or debit card payment details.
    How do I know what zone I am in?
    In Dublin City Parking Tag zones are colour coded and all other councils use letters. You must always check local signage/meters to confirm your zone and that you are in a Parking Tag location.
    Do I need a ticket or a tag?
    For on-street parking, no, a tag is not required. The warden validates your parking session by checking your vehicle registration plate, however, if you are parking in some of our off-street car park locations a tag is required. Please visit our off-street section. Parking Tag is a ticketless service.
    Do I need to use the parking meter?
    No, this system is completely independent of parking meters.
    Do I need to be near my vehicle to park?
    No, you can pay for parking from wherever you are using your mobile phone as long as you know the zone you have parked in. Please note that the GPS locations on the mobile application are only a guide. You must confirm your parking location by checking local signage.
    How long can I park for?
    All Parking Tag locations and zones vary in relation to parking restrictions. The rules and regulations are set by each individual local authority or car park operator. Local signage will indicate the tariffs and general rules relating to the area in which you are parking, this should always be adhered to.
    How does the parking warden know I paid?
    Our system is integrated with local parking enforcement suppliers so the wardens on-street will see your mobile payment on their handheld device when they enter your vehicle registration details.
    Can I park multiple cars?
    Yes, you can have as many vehicles on your account as you wish. if the vehicle registration you need to park isn't already saved to your account you can add it before starting the parking session.
    I was fined/clamped even though I paid for parking by phone, what happened?
    Parking Tag does not handle ticket violation disputes; however, we can confirm if payment was successful as well as help with any errors that may have occurred. An incorrect zone, a payment not confirmed properly, or an incorrect licence plate are all variables that may warrant a parking ticket. It is important to check if you have parked safely and legally, in the right zone with the correct vehicle.     My Account

    Can I get a copy of my parking transactions?
    Yes, simply log into your account here. Go to the “Statements” tab and here, you will be able to view/download all your transactions since registering with our service. Please be advised you can only search for your transactions three months at a time.
    How do I top up my account?
    When you register you will be asked to select a top up amount and a low balance threshold. We will automatically credit your account with your agreed top-up amount once the account reaches your selected low balance threshold. Customers must ensure that there are sufficient funds available from your chosen payment method to allow Parking Tag to top-up your account when required.
    How do I know my balance is running low?
    Parking Tag web account holders can check their balance at any time by logging into your account here or the app. Where possible, Parking Tag will notify registered customers that the card on the account is due to expire.
    How do I update my account (payment card details, vehicle, mobile number etc)?
    You can update your account by logging into your account here or on the app.
    How do I select an alternative vehicle that is on my account when using the app?
    Customers can select an alternative vehicle by clicking on the Vehicle section on the ‘Parking Details’ page when creating a ticket on the app.
    What if I am using the mobile app and I do not want my GPS on?
    Customers that have their GPS off can use the ‘Zone List’ to select their location. Always check local signage to verify your zone.
    How do I close my account?
    To cancel your account, you can email our Customer Service team at ptsupport@parkingtag.ie. Don't forget to include the mobile number on your account and your vehicle registration. We'll ask you to answer the security question on the account and the full balance will be refunded to the card on your account.
    Can I change my SMS settings?
    Yes, you can change your SMS preferences by logging onto your Parking Tag account on www.parkingtag.ie or the app. When you log in on the website, you will go to the “My Mobiles” tab. Select “edit” for the mobile number you wish to change the SMS settings on. Here you will be able to update your SMS settings. When you log in on the mobile app, go to the “head and shoulders” icon and choose “SMS Reminder”. Here you will be able to update your SMS settings. Please note, motorists parking via Charge-To-Mobile will always receive a reminder charged at €0.20. Reminders are optional when using the other payments channels.
    Can I add a vehicle to my account that is already on another account?
    Yes, simply go to the add vehicle section in your account online or on the app to add a vehicle. Please be advised that there is a monthly fee per vehicle.
    My card details have been updated on my account but not by me. How did this happen?
    Parking Tag uses a feature called Account Updater, which automatically requests card updates in the event that a customer’s card expires or is replaced. If your card issuer participates in Account Updater and provides expiration date updates directly to Parking Tag, those updates will apply to Parking Tag. This is a feature which helps you avoid failed transactions due an expiry or a replacement of your card.

    I ordered a tag for off-street parking from Payzone, and my tag has been lost/stolen/damaged, what do I do?
    If your tag has been lost/stolen or damaged, please email us at ptsupport@parkingtag.ie and we will arrange for a replacement tag to be sent to you
    I am waiting on a replacement tag that was lost, will the old tag still work?
    No, once a new tag is ordered the old tag will no longer work.
    I am entering the carpark and the barrier will not open, what do I do?
    Ensure you have your tag correctly installed on your windscreen. Ensure that you have upgraded your account to include off-street parking and you have added your tag number to your account. If the barrier still does not open, please press the intercom at the carpark and quote your tag number to the operator.

    Ensure that you have upgraded your account to include off-street parking with Q-Park and you have opted in your vehicle registration to your account. If the barrier still does not open, please press the intercom at the car park and quote your vehicle registration to the operator.

    What is number plate recognition?
    Q-Park's new parking system uses Automated Number Plate recognition (ANPR) technology to allow customers to enter and exit the car park by reading their vehicle registration. If you are opted into off-street parking with Q-Park through your account, you will be asked to select a vehicle on your Parking Tag account. This will allow you to enter Q-Park carparks.

    Multiday Tickets

    What is a multiday ticket?
    A multiday ticket is a periodic ticket e.g., weekly, monthly, yearly. At present, multiday is only available for certain zones. When you purchase a multiday ticket, it will become active immediately.
    What locations offer multiday tickets?
    Local authorities determine which zones offer multiday tickets. All multiday ticket options can be viewed under the zone where they are available.

    International Numbers

    I don’t have a Republic of Ireland mobile number; can I still use parking tag?
    Yes, you can still use the Parking Tag service.
    I have an international number, but I have not received my verification code after registering.
    This may be due to your network or roaming settings. Please call us on 0818 300 161 and we can assist you with this.
    As an unregistered customer, how can I park by text using a foreign number?
    You can still park, but you will need to text the number +353870602275. Please see information here.

    Fuel Offer

    Who can avail of the 4c off fuel offer?
    This offer is available to registered Parking Tag users on accounts with fewer than 10 vehicles.
    How do I use my discount code?
    You can access the fuel discount in one of two ways; visit Offers in the Account section or simply tap on any of the fuel icons on the map on the app. Choose Reveal Discount to receive your unique QR code when you refuel. Present this code at your chosen Circle K Stores where your 4c a litre discount will be applied instantly.
    What Circle K stores can I get my discount in?
    Fuels discounts are available in Circle K stores only, and not available at Circle K Express locations. The participating Circle K stores are pinned on the map on the app. Details of locations can be found when tapping on the pin.
    How often can I use the discount?
    You can only use one QR code per transaction.
